Anton Heak, the winner of the Johnnie Walker Classics in 2007 at Blue Canyon
BLUE CANYON COUNTRY CLUBhosted three times Johnnie Walker Classics in 1994, 1998 and 2007, and the Honda Invitational in 1996, the club offers 2 courses. The world championship canyon course has won a number of international awards, including "Asian & Pacific Golf Course of the Year 1999" (Hertz International Golf Travel Awards) and the Top 500 Best Holes in the World" for its par 3, 7th. Hole.
Both courses have been molded around existing natural canyons and rubber plantations. To avoid environmental damage, the courses have been designed to utilize the natural features of the landscape, producing a masterpiece of golf course design with spectacular, sometimes daunting, natural hazards.
Canyon Course: The original 18 holes, 72 par course was designed by Yoshikazo Kato in 1991. This championship course has featured in many major golf tournaments including the Johnnie Walker Classic.
Lakes Course: The Lakes Course has one of the largest greens and is already reputed to have one of the best finishing holes in this part of the world. The course runs through a landscape of lakes and natural canyons with a constant gentle
10 mph wind providing an added dimension to the game.
CANYON COURSE: "Course of champions". The sublime Canyon Course, which stretches across an immaculate green valley, has played host to golfing masters Tiger Woods, Gary Player, Nick Faldo and Ernie Els. The award-winning 18-hole course has been ranked as one of the most prestigious in Asia by international media. Woods, himself, described it as one of the world's best courses.
Carved into landscape of wooded hill, the course is dotted with freshwater lakes and natural hazards that have challenged professionals. Veteran pro Fred Couple decribed the 17th hole as "one of the best Par 3 anywhere in the world" Woods conquered the awesome 13th hole, which spans an intimidating 390 yards, with a one-on in 1998. The 390 -yard challenge remains irresistible for golfers today.

LAKES COURSE: "An inspiring alternative". The Lakes offers a different but equally inspiring test to golfers. Tee areas are placed strategically for both the long driver and the more delicate swing. However, select bunkers and water hazards on all but one of the holes guarantee a challenge for even the veteran golfer.
The Lakes' 18 holes weave their way around rambling lakes, natural canyons and lush woodlands, a tribute to Kato's mission (Course designer) to maintain the integrity of the natural habitat. Framed by Fragrant tropical plants, the course features some of the largest greens in Southeast Asia. Given the challenge of the course and the magnificent natural backdrop, the Lakes Course offers on of the top golfing experiences in the region.
